Silence in the starry night,

Milky Way sprinkles love and wonder.
Gifts of light falling from the night sky.
Not a sound to be heard tonight,
Except for the wind shaking the leaves.
Perhaps a car is heard afar.
Staring at so much beauty,
Naming the constellations,
And spotting satellites in the night.
Dreams of far-away stars and worlds still in our eyes.
Silence interrupted by our questions and laughter.
Nature and the darkness enter my breath.
The body is heavy and spent, yet happy.
The mind rests in awe.
Breathing with the satisfaction of an accomplished day.
Bodily tensions rest at last.
The mind finds peace in this sacred cathedral.
The gaze becomes lost in the canopy of the heavens.
The silence connects us to the stars.
As if we were the only ones on the surface of the planet tonight.
As if the silence itself were listening.
My universe is: the 4 of us, our planet, and the stars.
